Welcome to Trivium Charter School

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by to learn about our Personalized Learning, Public Charter School where each student follows their own personalized learning plan with customized curriculum choices.

Trivium believes in partnering with parents to provide a solid foundation of knowledge that inspires a passion and confidence in learning. Together we create students who think critically, speak confidently, and achieve their individual goals. Trivium achieves this mission through a variety of methods that have been proven to work. We use a hybrid model that blends the best of homeschooling methods with the best of the classroom experience. We call our classroom experience ACE days. (A Classical Experience) Similar hybrid, classical models are also operating successfully in California as well as in other states. The basis of a classical program is to employ the use of critical thinking and logic skills to understand scientific and historic thought processes.

In elementary grades, the individually-paced subjects done at home are math, spelling, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, writing, keyboarding and physical education. The classroom subjects during our ACE days are history, science, writing, public speaking, art and music, math literacy support and a lot of fun.

In junior high grades, the individually-paced subjects done at home are math, spelling, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, writing, keyboarding and physical education. The classroom subjects during our ACE days are history, science, writing, public speaking, and logic class.  Our junior high students are a great group of kids!

In high school grades, the individually-paced subjects done at home are math and electives,  The classroom subjects during our ACE days vary depending on the year but English is always offered on campus.  For the 2018/2019 school year, our high school students have English, Government, Economics and Financial Literacy.  The majority of our high school students engage in community college classes, work experience or both!

All students have the option to participate in clubs that happen once a week.  Club options rotate and offer students the ability to explore different interests throughout the year.

On behalf of the Trivium Charter School staff, I thank our charter school families, the communities and surrounding areas of Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Lompoc, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara for supporting our students and programs as we continue to grow and expand on California’s Central Coast.

Sincerely,

Trisha Vais
